BLACKBOOK invites you to join the resistance

| | ,

Mystery band BLACKBOOK has a new song out today called “Join Us.” It appears to be a call to join the movement, although exactly which movement is never explicitly stated.

The “Join Us” lyric video features a broad array of images, including a shot of Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker portrayal that seems like a risky copyright move. There are also multiple clips of violent protests.

The song’s lyrics address society’s outcasts: “So come all you freaks and losers. You scum of planet earth.” It concludes with the lines: “If you’re not with me, you’re against me. If you’re not for me, you’re against me.”

“Join Us” is only the fourth song from BLACKBOOK and follows “People Are Fake,” a bratty banger they released earlier this year. The mysterious duo hasn’t revealed their names and wears fencing masks in all their photos. The only thing we know about them is that they’re from Switzerland.

So what’s “Join Us” about? You decide.
