Ice Planet Goth collects songs inspired by Star Wars

| |

The wonderful alternative music blog Darkness Calling has a new charity compilation out today called Ice Planet Goth that features many great synthpop and darkwave artists. All nine songs on the comp are inspired by the Star Wars galaxy—there are even awesome titles with phrases you’ll probably recognize like “Rebel Scum” and “Do/Do Not.”

Ice Planet Goth is a pay-what-you-want release, but it supports a great cause. Darkness Calling is contributing the proceeds to The Trevor Project, a crucial organization that manages a 24-hour suicide prevention hotline for LGBTQ youth. I feel very strongly about supporting this cause and encourage you to do so if you can.

The tracklist includes an unreleased track from Synthpop Fanatic favorite BlakLight called “Blinded by the Sun,” possibly inspired by the twin suns of Tatooine. Additional contributors include Songs For Sabotage, BlakLight, Ex-Hyena, Above The Snow Line, InfraDEAD, Retrograth, Hurtsfall, Schizophr3nica, and Violet Nox.

You can find Ice Planet Goth exclusively on Bandcamp.
