Health

HEALTH makes a genre-defying style of music that combines waves of crashing noise with delicate, synthpop vocals. They are one of my favorite bands right now.

Today, HEALTH announced a new album called DISCO4: PART 1 that will feature 11 collaborations with a number of other artists like The Soft Moon and Youth Code. It will be out October 16.

You can pre-order DISCO4: PART 1 at Bandcamp.

HEALTH typically follows each album with a collection of remixes filed to its DISCO series. Instead of remixing most recent album, Slaves of Fear, one of my favorite albums of 2019, they are defying their DISCO format because it’s 2020 and everything is fucked up.

In addition to the collaborations, DISCO4: PART 1 contains a new standalone song by HEALTH called “Cyberpunk 2.0.2.0.” It’s not quite as noisy as your typical HEALTH track, but it is beautiful and reflective.
