Unroyal is an absolutely charming synthpop duo from Sweden and one of my favorite new artists. They played live on Twitch over the weekend, and you can watch the playback below. This was my first opportunity to experience what Unroyal is like on stage.
The performance is part of a series of livestreams called Låt Live Leva that showcases Swedish artists who are unable to tour because of the COVID-19 virus. It was recorded in Unroyal’s hometown of Umeå, Sweden. After their performance, they do an interview with the host in Swedish.
Unroyal released their debut album in 2019. It was called Mainstream, and it was one of my top 10 albums of the year. You can read my review of Mainstream here.
The guys play four songs during their set. The entire livestream is nearly 5 hours long, but I’ve set the playback to start at the beginning of Unroyal’s set.
