They call their sound “electro-wave-rock.” It’s a mean and spirited brand of post-punk primarily carried by guitars and featuring slick, creative synth work. The vocals remind me a lot of Editors’ Tom Smith, who is himself frequently compared to Ian Curtis.
I’m obsessed with their latest single, Ibisco, a booming, rhythmic jam with tragic lyrics about the futility of falling in love. The song’s video features a powerful heroine juxtaposed with footage of global unrest. It is incredible.
