Affet Robot debuts first English-language song

“Kills You Again” is Affet Robot’s first new song since relocating to London.

Affet Robot

Darkwave/synthpop project Affet Robot is known for its harmonious Turkish vocals and an atmospheric sound that’s drawn comparisons to fellow Turks She Past Away. Today, the band upends all expectations with a new song called “Kills You Again.”

“Kills You Again” is Affet Robot’s first English-language track. The song conveys a charming, melancholic vibe with organic keys and vintage laser bursts, while the lyrics address the crushing disappointment of reality. Of note, the song is mixed and mastered by multi-instrumentalist Trey Frye of Philadelphia synthpop duo Korine.

In late 2021, Affet Robot’s Eren Günsan moved from Istanbul to London, which may have influenced his decision to write songs in English. In any language, he creates compelling and gorgeous synthpop.

The name Affet Robot translates to “forgive robot.” The project’s latest release was its 2021 sophomore album, Fiyasko, which included Affet Robot’s best known song, the fiery thriller “Budala.” More new songs will follow “Kills You Again” this year.

You can find “Kills You Again” on Bandcamp and Spotify.
