Apoptygma Berzerk releases Smashing Pumpkins cover

Listen to Apop play “Disarm.”

Apoptygma Berzerk

Apoptygma Berzerk is getting ready to release another collection of rarities and B-sides, and today they unveiled the first song from that collection. It’s a cover of “Disarm,” originally recorded by Smashing Pumpkins. They’ve given it a nice electronic spin.

This isn’t the first time Apoptygma Berzerk has covered other artists’ songs. They’ve also covered Metallica’s “Fade to Black,” OMD’s “Electricity,” and Joy Division’s “Love Will Tear Us Apart.”

“Disarm” will appear on a new collection of unreleased material from Apop. This is actually the second set. The first set, Faceless Fear, was released on April 1. It also contained a famous cover song: “Major Tom,” originally recorded by Peter Schilling.
