One of America’s premiere synthpop and darkwave music festivals, Absolution Fest, announced its 2022 lineup last week. This year’s event will feature performances from Empathy Test, Minuit Machine, Creux Lies, The KVB, and more.
Absolution Fest takes place in the world-famous Ybor City district of Tampa, Florida, and will run from October 6 to 8. It’s produced by Endoxa Booking and the lovely crew from Communion After Dark.
I attended Absolution Fest last year and had an absolute blast. One of the best things about this event is the outgoing and friendly community in Florida. I met so many great people there.
If you’re thinking about going this year, here are three tips to make your trip to Absolution Fest even better:
- Join the Absolution Fest Guide public group on Facebook. They offer shopping suggestions, restaurant tips, and other advice for visiting Ybor City. Plus, they plan extra events during the weekend, like Goth Brunch at The Bricks, one of my favorite places to eat and drink in the area.
- Go shopping at Ravens & Rockers as soon as you get to Tampa. They sell great clothing and accessories for men and women, so you’ll find plenty of stuff to wear to the festival. I bought a pair of Demonia boots and wore them out all weekend.
- Go dancing at The Castle after the shows. The Castle is one of the best goth-industrial nightclubs in the US, so it’s a great place to continue partying. Last year, Kanga spun a guest DJ set after her Absolution Fest performance.
