Fatigue has a new track out today called “But Nobody Came.” It’s a somber and slow-burning electro ballad that begins with a sample of an oud, a Middle Eastern instrument similar to a lute. From there, the song gradually builds, adding electronic elements and ratcheting up the anguish with lyrics that are stirring and introspective.
“But Nobody Came” is the follow-up to Fatigue’s We Are the Wreckage EP that came out in early 2021. Last year, she released her debut album, Illusory Things, which I named one of the best albums of 2020.
Fatigue is Massachusetts-based DJ Lillian Edith Martin, who names Priest, Black Nail Cabaret, and TR/ST among her influences. For more information about Fatigue, I had the chance to interview her last year.
