English artist AfterDark has a new music video out for her song “What Do You Know About Love.” It’s a progressive trance song with emotive vocals and a very dark beat. I love it.
AfterDark is the solo project of singer-songwriter Marie Williamson. You may recognize her voice as the lead singer of the electronic-rock band Agency-V. In 2020, the trio released their debut EP, No Divide, and I named their song “Never Meant to Be” one of the best synthpop songs of the year.
Marie tells me she’s a mad Depeche Mode fan and a huge lover of dark electronic music. Her songs are inspired by 80’s synth music and 90’s trance music—a killer combination. Earlier this year, AfterDark released a cover of the De/Vision classic “Dress Me When I Bleed.”
