The electro-rock project ††† (Crosses) released two new songs today, “Initiation” and “Protection,” their first original music since their 2014 self-titled debut album. “Initiation” comes with an official music video (see above), and “Protection” features an official visualizer (see below).

The band made a big splash at the end of 2021, signing a record deal with Warner Records and releasing a gorgeous cover of beloved goth club staple, Q Lazzarus’ “Goodbye Horses.” In late 2020, they released a cover of Cause & Effect’s “The Beginning of the End.”

All this activity from the project suggests that a full-length album is on the way, though there’s no official news yet. A press release for the new songs says ††† has “more original music on the horizon to come.”

††† is a duo comprised of Deftones singer Chino Moreno and producer/multi-instrumentalist Shaun Lopez. They made their debut in 2011 with the first of three EPs.
