Festival season will soon be upon us. One of the biggest synthpop and darkwave fests in the US, Absolution Fest, just announced its 2023 lineup. It is stacked with bands that consistently appear on my best-of lists.
Light Asylum, Empathy Test, and Priest will headline this year’s Absolution Fest. They’ll be joined by rising stars Nuovo Testamento as well as two acts whose albums blew me away last year, Sydney Valette and AEON RINGS. Also notable, California’s BlakLight will be making their East Coast debut.

Absolution Fest takes place in the world-famous Ybor City district of Tampa, Florida, and will run from October 5 to 7. It’s produced by Endoxa Booking and Communion After Dark.
