The Italian electro-wave project Talk to Her made a big splash in 2020 with their debut album Love Will Come Again and especially its booming, rhythmic single “Ibisco.” Then—silence. We haven’t heard a peep from the band in nearly five years.

Last week, Talk to Her made an unexpected comeback with a new single called “PLD.” It’s a tense, escalating track built on dark, pummeling synths and thick drum patter that gathers force as the song unfolds. Andrea Visaggio’s echo-soaked vocals, still reminiscent of Editors’ Tom Smith, spiral through lyrics that hint at bondage, singing about finding pleasure and losing control.

Alongside the single, Talk To Her announced their long-awaited sophomore album, Pleasure Loss Desire, due October 30, 2025. Co-produced and recorded by Maurizio Baggio (known for his work with The Soft Moon, Boy Harsher, and Holygram), the album promises a darker, colder, and more aggressive sound than its predecessor, exploring themes of alienation, suffering, and fear.

Here’s how the band describes the album in a press release:

“A journey into a colder world, exploring contrasting emotions and reflecting the fragilities of living in an uncertain era.”

Talk To Her formed in Padova, Italy, and released their debut EP Home in 2018. The band consists of Andrea Visaggio (vocals/synthesizers), Stefano Murrone (guitar), Riccardo Massaro (bass), and Francesco Zambon (drums).

You can find “PLD” on Spotify and other streaming platforms.
