Beyond Border releases club-ready remix album

Awake the Clubs includes remixes from Eisfabrik, Frozen Plasma, ES23, N-Frequency, and others.

Beyond Border

German duo Beyond Border has a new album out called Awake the Clubs. It’s aptly named. The album contains fast-paced, club-ready remixes of songs from their debut album, Awakening. Somehow the beats are even thicker than the originals.

Awake the Clubs features remixes from many popular artists, including Frozen Plasma, ES23, N-Frequency, Digital Energy, and others. I particularly like Eisfabrik’s take on “Number 23,” which producer Gerrit Thomas has turned into a serious club banger. And there are two remixes of “What Makes the World Go Round,” my number one song of 2021.

The original tracks appeared on Awakening, which arrived in December. I included it on my list of the best albums of 2021 for injecting fresh energy into the dark music club scene. Beyond Border is working on the follow-up album, which is tentatively titled Gathering.

Awake the Clubs includes one previously unreleased track, an electrified version of a song called “Narcotic” that was originally released in 1999 by German rock band Liquido.

Beyond Border’s popularity has skyrocketed since they arrived on the scene in late 2019. Read my interview with the band to learn more about their background and their approach to music.

You can find Awake the Clubs on Bandcamp, Spotify, and Amazon.
