Ruined Conflict shares somber new song, “Covid 19”

| | ,

Ruined Conflict has been busy. The electronic project fronted by Xavier Morales released a new single called “Neonlights” just a few weeks ago, and today’s he back with a timely new song called “Covid 19.” The song is only on Youtube at the moment. Watch it below.

“Covid 19” is a somber, tragic reflection of the current state of the world. The tone throughout the song and video is dark and apocalyptic, and the video ends with an image of Donald Trump. The violins and the cooing chorus are a nice touch.

It’s unclear if Xavier composed the song from scratch in social isolation over the past few weeks or if he’s repurposed earlier material he was working on to fit today’s events. Notably, the phrase “Covid 19” doesn’t actually appear in the song. But these lyrics are pretty evocative: “Welcome to the showdown. Our world on lockdown. Take a look around as we stand our ground.”
