Absolution Fest, one of the premiere synthpop and darkwave music festivals in the US, announced its 2024 lineup earlier this week. It is stacked with bands that consistently appear on my best-of lists, including some big surprises.
The beloved German trio Beborn Beton returns to the US for the first time in more than 20 years. I believe the last time they played the States was the World Harmony Tour with Apoptygma Berzerk in 2002.
The Swedish duo Kite, whose live shows have become somewhat of a legend in the dark music scene, will also play Absolution Fest. Kite last toured the US in 2022, though this will be their first Florida show.
The Absolution Fest lineup also includes darkwave artist Zanias and the Belgian project Ultra Sunn, who is this month’s Synthpop Fanatic cover artist. See the complete lineup below.
Absolution Fest takes place October 10 to 12 in the Ybor City district of Tampa, Florida. One of the best things about this event is the lively after-parties at The Catacombs and the world-famous goth club, The Castle.
Tickets for the event go on sale on Friday, April 4.
