Electronic music pioneer Gary Numan released a new music video today for his song “Saints and Liars.”

The music video was directed by Chris Corner of IAMX and filmed at Amboy Crater in the Mojave Desert. Numan says, “‘Saints and Liars’ is the earth drawing attention to our blind faith in religion, in a fictitious God, who in reality does nothing for us, while at the same time abusing and destroying the planet, which does everything for us.”

“Saints and Liars” is the third single from Numan’s upcoming album, Intruder, which is due out on May 21. He previously released the singles “I Am Screaming” and the album’s title track.

Intruder, Numan’s 18th solo album, will examine the impact of global warming on an anthropomorphized planet that can only survive by purging its inhabitants. It follows a series of albums, Splinter (Songs from a Broken Mind) and Savage (Songs from a Broken World), that are among his best albums.
