The Night We Raise from Philadelphia duo Korine is a serious contender for best album of the year. There is not a single filler track on it.
Today Korine released a new music video for the song “Cruel” that finds members Morgy Ramone and Trey Frye bathed in shadows and performing in a dark, woodland setting. It’s a great fit for the song’s macabre lyrics about spirits and devils: “I’m alone in the woods with the spirit entwined. And I could be cruel.”
“Cruel” is the fourth video from The Night We Raise. They’ve previously released videos for “Fate,” “Cold Heart,” and “Cast.”
The Night We Raise is Korine’s second full-length album, following 2018’s New Arrangements. Last year, Korine released an excellent single called “Uncrossed” that was one of my favorite songs of the year.
