Korine releases new music video for “The Last”

Yet another music video from my number three album of 2020.

Korine

Philadelphia duo Korine has a new music video out today for their song “The Last,” which is from last year’s incredible album, The Night We Raise. Watch it below.

“The Last” was one of my favorite tracks from The Night We Raise when it first arrived last September. It’s a deeply personal song with pulsating synths and lyrics that ache: “I don’t know what is happening to me, a freak.” This is the kind of relatable, painful song I love to listen to alone in the dark while the synths wash over me.

The Night We Raise, Korine’s second full-length album, was number three on my list of the best synthpop albums of 2020. It’s one of those rare albums that doesn’t have a single bad track.

In fact, Korine has produced music videos for more than half of the songs on The Night We Raise. In addition to “The Last,” they’ve previously released videos for “Cruel,” “Fate,” “Cold Heart,” and “Cast.”

You can find The Night We Raise on Bandcamp and Spotify.
