BlakLight’s new song is called “So Gone.”

BlakLight

Los Angeles-based synthpop band BlakLight has a bunch of music out today, including a brand new song. First up is a remix collection of BlakLight’s latest single, “Control.”

This collection of remixes features an impressive roster of synthpop artists, including Scenius, Mind Machine, Promenade Cinema, Lloyd Price, and Beyond Border. In addition to these remixes, there’s also a “Stripped” version of “Control” that features guitar from Pano Coromelas.

Earlier this year, BlakLight vocalist Brian Belknap provided backing vocals on Beyond Border’s incredible single, “What Makes the World Go Round.” Beyond Border has returned the favor with a remix of “Control.” It’s really nice to see these two promising artists working together.

“Control” is the third and final set of remixes from BlakLight’s debut album, Music In a Time of Uncertainty, which I named one of the best albums of 2020. They’ve also released remix collections of “Isolation” and “Unknown Love.” They are already preparing to release new music this year from their next album.

You can find the Control – The Remixes on Bandcamp and Spotify.

BlakLight’s new song is called “So Gone”

In addition to the “Control” remixes, BlakLight has a new song out today called “So Gone” that appears on the forthcoming Generation Blitz compilation of songs inspired by the Blitz Club era.

“So Gone” is an original composition that showcases BlakLight’s vibrant sound. The song contains electronic pulses that flitter atop a soothing beat and Brian’s poetic lyrics.

The Generation Blitz compilation will include 34 tracks from electronic artists across the world. It’s coming next month. Out today is a “White Label Edition” that features just five of the tracks. In addition to BlakLight, there’s new music from Birmingham Electric, Ditsea Yella, Wavewulf, and Nostalgia Deathstar.

You can find Generation Blitz (White Label) exclusively on Spotify.
